Training

Read, understand and follow all instructions on the machine and in the manual(s) before operating this unit.

ASSEMBLY / PRE-OPERATION

OPERATION

KNOW YOUR SNOW THROWER

Read this owner's manual and all safety rules before operating your snow thrower.

STOPPING

Release traction drive control lever to stop the forward or reverse movement of the snow thrower.

HOW TO USE YOUR SNOW THROWER

Know how to operate all controls before adding fuel or attempting to start the engine.

TO CONTROL SNOW DISCHARGE

The direction in which snow is to be thrown is controlled by the discharge chute control lever.

TO THROW SNOW

The auger rotation is controlled by the auger control lever located on the right side handle.

TO MOVE FORWARD AND BACKWARD

Self-propelling, forward and reverse movement of the snow thrower, is controlled by the traction drive control lever.

BEFORE STARTING THE ENGINE

Check engine oil level. Remove oil fill cap/dipstick and wipe clean, reinsert the dipstick and screw tight.

TO START ENGINE

Be sure fuel shut-off valve is in the OPEN position. Your snow thrower engine is equipped with both a 120 Volt A.C. electric starter and a recoil starter.

COLD START - ELECTRIC STARTER

Insert safety ignition key (packed separately in parts bag) into ignition slot until it clicks.

COLD START - RECOIL STARTER

Insert safety ignition key (packed separately in parts bag) into ignition slot until it clicks.

MAINTENANCE

BEFORE EACH USE

Check engine oil level. Check for loose fasteners. Check controls to be sure they are functioning properly.

SERVICE AND ADJUSTMENTS

SHEAR BOLTS

Both right and left-hand augers are secured to the auger shaft with a shoulder/shear bolt and hex nut.

IMPELLER SHEAR BOLTS

The impeller is secured to the impeller shaft with two (2) capscrew/shear bolts and hex nuts.

TO REPLACE BELTS

The auger and traction drive belts are not adjustable. If the belts are damaged or begin to slip from wear, they should be replaced.

It is important to prevent gum deposits from forming in essential fuel system parts such as carburetor, fuel hose, or tank during storage.
