INSTRUCTION MANUAL
Adjusting the V-belt
Check that the engine is stopped and that the
spark plug cover (19) has been removed from the
spark plug and secured, so there is no danger of
contact with the spark plug.
Remove the cover from the V-belt.
Undo the four nuts holding the engine in place.
Pull the engine forward until the V-belt is
sufficiently taut.
Tighten the four nuts holding the engine in place.
Replace the cover over the V-belt.
If the V-belt is split, rotted or worn, replace it with
a new belt of the same type. Note that the old belt
will generally be slightly longer than the new one
due to wear and tear.
Pull the belt to one side and rotate the drive wheel
slowly until the belt comes off. Take care not to
get fingers trapped.
Position the new V-belt on the drive wheel by the
engine first, and then on the wheel by the knife
shaft.
Storage
When the garden shredder is to be stored for long
periods without use, do as follows:
Drain and clean the fuel tank
Drain the engine oil
Wipe off the engine exterior with a soft cloth
Clean the shredder and cover all metal surfaces
with a light film of oil.
Store the shredder in a clean, dry, well-ventilated
place.
Troubleshooting
If the engine will not start, or is difficult to start:
Check the oil and petrol levels
Check for leaks in the fuel and oil systems
Check the spark plug and clean if necessary
using a wire brush.
If the engine will still not run properly, take the
shredder to an authorised workshop for repair.
