MAINTENANCE POWERTEK
SHARPENING CUTTERS
The cutters should be sharpened frequently for higher performance and a longer life. It is also
easier to grind them if they are ground often.
*You will need a carbide-grinding wheel (green wheel) to sharpen them. Use a coarse grinding
wheel to grind the steel shank. Be sure to maintain the back grind of 15 degrees (approximately).
The cutters must be replaced when the tooth has been sharpened so that 1/4" (approximately) of
the carbide is left.
