VEHICLE JUMP START INSTRUCTIONS:
WARNINGS:
Reviewyourvehicleowner’smanualinstructionsbeforeattemptingtojumpstartyourvehicle.Failureto
followtheseadvisoryinstructionsmayresultinpersonalinjuryandpropertydamage.Usesafetyglasses
toprotectyoureyeswhileworkingnearabatteryduringvehiclejump-starting.Jumpstartavehicle
inanopenareawithoutanytypeofobstructions.
1. Turnoffthevehicleignitionandallaccessories(Suchasradios,lights,andairconditioners,etc).
2. Applytheemergencybrakeandputthosevehicleswithautomatictransmissioninparkposition.
3. Determinethepolarityofthevehiclebatteryterminals.Thepositive(+)batteryterminalnormallyis
largerindiameterthanthenegative(-)terminal.Ifyouareunsure,youmustrefertothevehicle
owner’smanual.
1. Determine whether your vehicle is equipped with a negative or positive grounded system: Most
vehiclesusethistypeofsystem.PositiveGroundedbatteryterminalisgroundedtochassisoranyother
part of the vehicle. If you are not certain of this important information, YOU SHOULD REFER
TO YOUR VEHICLE OWNER’S MANUAL.
2. Remove clamps from the holders. Never allow clamps (positive & negative terminals) to touch
togetherorcontactthesamepieceofmetaltopreventshort-circuits.
3. Followtheinstructionsforanegativegroundedsystemorpositivegroundedsystemasindicated
below:
Negative Grounded System
Connect the RED CLAMP (positive +) to the positive terminal of the vehicle battery or the remote
positiveterminalifavailable.
ConnecttheBLACKCLAMP(negative-)tothevehicleengineblock,orametalpartofthevehiclewhich
isconnectedtothevehiclemaingroundsystem.Donotclampdirectlytonegativebatteryterminal,main
fueldistributionmoduleorsheetmetalparts.
ThePolarityProtectionSystemGREENLEDisilluminatediftheproperconnectionshavebeenmade.
WARNING: If RED LED is illuminated, DISCONNECT the booster clamps from battery terminals.
Reconnecttheboosterclampsbyreversingtheconnectionstotheproperbatterypolarity.
