Why is my Presenza Ventilation Hood not venting properly?

  Several factors can affect the venting performance of your Presenza Ventilation Hood. Ensure that no birds or animals have nested in the duct. Verify the distance between the cooktop and the hood's bottom is between 18 and 28 inches. Confirm the ductwork meets requirements: use round metal ductwork with a uniform 7-inch diameter, and ensure the ductwork length doesn't exceed 35 ft. Reduce ductwork length and elbow count if needed, and properly connect, seal, and tape all joints. Also, check that the duct doesn't open against the wind. Use high speed for heavy cooking. Closing nearby windows and slightly opening a window on the house's opposite side can also enhance performance.

  If the lights work, but the fan isn't spinning, is stuck, or is rattling, it's possible the thermal protection system has shut the motor down because it was too hot. In this case, the motor will function properly after the thermal protection system cools down (approximately 10 minutes). Also, check that the fan isn’t jammed or scraping the bottom. If neither of these solutions work, the motor may be defective and require replacement.
