Thebatteriesaresubjecttointernalchemicalreactionsduringchargeanddischarge,whichmodifytheirinternaltemperature.Itispossibleto
chooseamaximumtemperaturevaluewhich,oncereached,willstopautomaticallyanycharge/discharge/balanceprocess.Atemperature
sensorisprovidedwiththechargerandcanbepluggedontheleftsideofthecharger(Temp.Sensor).
Asafetytimercanbesetupinordertoreduceaccidentrisks.Thisdoesnotaffectthefactthattheusermustbeclosetothechargerduringany
process.
Inordertoprotecttheinputenergysource(carbatteryforexample),theinputvoltageischeckedatalltimebythecharger.Ifthevoltage
shouldriseordropoutofthechargernormaloperationvoltagelimits,anyprocesswouldbeimmediatelystopped.
Thechargerhas5usermemoriesallowingtheusertostoreandcallbackcustomisedparametersforthebatteriesheoftencharge/discharge.
Alwayscheckthattheselectedprogramismatchingthebatteriesconnectedtothecharger.
Thechargersoftwarefeaturesa«cycling»function.Itcanproceedupto5cyclesofcharge/discharge,allowingtostimulateandbalancethe
batterieswhenneeded.
Dischargefunction:it’smainfunctionistotrytogetridofthebatteries“memoryeffect”inordertotrytobringbackabatterytoit’snominal
capacity.Severalcharge/dischargecyclesarenecessaryforthis.Thecharge/dischargevaluesmustmatchthebatteriesmanufacturers
warnings,inordertoavoidatoodeepdischargeorovercharge.AttentionshouldbegiventoLithiumbatterieswhichhavenoparticular
reasonstobedischargedexceptforlongtimestoring.AdeepdischargeisfatalforaLithiumbatteryandcanbeafactoroffireorshortcircuit.
