Overview
TheProTronikchargerfeaturesmanyautomaticfunctionswhichadjustthechargingcurrentandvoltageduringcharge/dischargeprocess.
RegardingtheLithiumbatteries,aspecialprocessisused,reducingsignificantlytheoverchargeandfirerisks,generallyduetouser
programmingerrors.Thechargerisdesignedtostopanyerraticchargeprocess,whenthisarises.
TheProTronikchargerusesasophisticatedbalancingcircuitallowingthechargertocheckandbalanceeachlithiumcellinrealtime(when
balancingsocketisusedin).
ThechargerprogramisabletofastchargetheLithiumbatteries,reducingthechargetimecomparedtostandardchargingprocess(please
alwaysrespectthecellsmanufacturerrecommendations).Thechargerisalsoabletocharge/dischargeLithiumcellsinordertostorethemfor
severalweekswithoutdamagingthecells.Alongstoringtimecandeterioratethebatterychemistryandperformanceswhentheyarenotstored
atanappropriatevoltage.
TheendchargefunctionisbasedonthedeltaPeaksensingmethod.Whenthecellvoltagereachesaprogrammedvalue,thechargeprocessis
automaticallyended(forsomebatteriesspecialvaluesneedtobemanuallyentered,pleasecheckfurthersectionsofmanualfordetails)
ItispossibletoletthechargerdecideofthemaximumchargecurrentortoinputthevaluemanuallywhenchargingNiCd/NiMhbatteries.
Thiscanbehelpfulwhenchargingcellswithlowinternalresistance.
Themaximumcapacityisalwayscalculatedonthechargetimemultiplicatedonthechargecurrent.Ifamaximum(limit)valueissetup,the
chargingprocesswillstoponcethisvaluewillbereached.Usethisfunctiononlyifyouaresureaboutthevalueyouenter.
