The Pronomic TL series power amplifiers are designed for professional audio applications, offering robust performance and versatile connectivity for various sound system configurations. These amplifiers are suitable for standard 19-inch rack-mounting and come in several models: TL 200, TL 400, TL 700, and TL 1200, each with varying power outputs.
Function Description:
All TL series power amplifiers feature volume control, parallel balanced XLR and 1/4" TRS inputs, and support stereo (dual channel), parallel input, or bridged mono modes, selectable via a switch. They include three selectable input sensitivities, a clip limiter, a ground lift switch, screw terminals (banana plug), and Speakon outputs. For cooling, two fans with two speeds are integrated. The amplifiers incorporate a soft start function, silent switching on and off, independent DC and thermal overload protection on each channel, short circuit and loudspeaker protection, and a built-in current limiter. Front LED indicators provide visual feedback for Power, Signal, Clip, and Protect status. The units are housed in roadworthy, rugged 2U or 3U chassis and operate on 230 V (50 Hz) AC power, supplied via an IEC power cord.

Usage Features:
The amplifiers offer three operational modes:
- STEREO (2-CHANNEL) – MODE: This is the most common mode, allowing independent control of two separate signals for stereo playback, main and monitor live mixes, or bi-amp operation. To use, ensure the amplifier is off, set the MODE SELECTION SWITCH (16, on the back) to "STEREO," and connect input/output lines as illustrated.
- PARALLEL (MONO) – MODE: In this mode, both channels operate in parallel with the same signal, eliminating the need for a Y-cable. Inputs for both channels are internally connected, so only one signal needs to be fed into one channel. This allows independent level control for each channel and easy "Daisy-Chaining" with other power amplifiers using the other input terminal. To use, ensure the amplifier is off, set the MODE SELECTOR (16) to "PARALLEL," and connect input/output lines as illustrated. It is important not to select parallel mode if supplying the amplifier with two separate signals, and to avoid using unbalanced and balanced cables simultaneously to prevent hum.
- BRIDGED (MONO) – MODE: This mode combines the power of both channels to drive a single speaker, delivering 4 times peak power and 3 times continuous power into a 4 or 8 ohm speaker. Users must ensure that the speaker, connectors, and cabling are adequate for the high power output. Prolonged overload with a 4-ohm loudspeaker can blow the mains fuse. To use, ensure the amplifier is off, set the MODE SELECTION SWITCH (16) to "BRIDGED," connect input/output lines as illustrated (input signal to CH-1 to bypass mono operation), and turn the volume control of channel "2" counterclockwise until it stops. The signal will be output in CH-1.
Safety instructions emphasize disconnecting the power cord before installation or removal, ensuring the unit is positioned to prevent tripping hazards, and avoiding use near water or heat sources. The product should only be connected to a power supply that complies with the specified type, and fuses should be replaced only with specified types, sizes, and ratings. Servicing should be performed by qualified personnel if the power cord or plug is damaged, objects or liquid have entered the product, it has been exposed to rain, it malfunctions, or its housing is damaged. The manual warns against operating the device at high or uncomfortable volumes for extended periods to prevent permanent hearing loss. Adequate ventilation must be ensured, and ventilation slots should never be blocked.
Maintenance Features:
The manual advises regularly removing dust from the inside of the device using compressed air through the ventilation openings. It also states, "Never immerse the unit in any liquid."
The Pronomic TL series amplifiers are designed for reliable and powerful audio amplification, with features that ensure both performance and protection for the equipment and connected loudspeakers.
