Why is the snow not being thrown as far as usual by my pronovost P-540 Snow Blower?

  There are several reasons why your pronovost Snow Blower might not be throwing snow as far as it used to. It could be due to the tractor RPM being too low, so raise the P.T.O. speed to a minimum of 540 RPM. Another cause might be a gap that is too wide between the impeller blade tip and drum outlet wall; in this case, adjust the impeller blades closer to the drum outlet (1/8" to 3/16"). Finally, insufficient tractor HP could be the culprit, so you should reduce your travel speed.
