PRS-812 Resistance Meter

Slide the Baery Buss Cut O to the OFF posion when the instrument is not in use, parcu-
larly during storage and transport to prevent unintenonal instrument power up, and during
baery replacement.
3. Press the Red  buon to power up the instrument.
4. The instrument will conduct a self-test, check its LCD display and LED lights, and test the baer-
ies. If Baeries are acceptable  will be displayed in the LCD (Figure 9).


a. The default Mode for the PRS-812 is Automac Resistance Measurement in exponenal
format (1.0EXX).
b. If measurements are to be displayed in Ohms press the Gray  buon once.
6. If  is not displayed in the lower le corner of the Liquid Crystal Display (LCD), press Gray
 buon once to display  in LCD. This acvates the Memory Register, en-
abling data storage.
7. Press the Green  buon to begin the  measurement sequence. The instru-
ment will automacally set the resistance range to 0.1 Ohms (1.0E-01), and select <10 volts to
be applied to the Posive (+) Lead Terminal. The electricaon mer will start counng sec-
onds.
E. Measurements Less than 10,000 ohms (<1.0x10
4
ohms):
1. When the resistance measurement is less than 1.0x10
4
ohms, test voltage will remain at <10V,
the resistance range will be adjusted automacally and a stable resistance measurement will
be obtained within 2.0 to 3.0 seconds.
2. Once a stable measurement is conrmed and displayed by the instrument,  will be ener-
gized in the LCD and the electricaon mer will stop.
