PRS-812 Resistance Meter
3. Once a stable measurement is conrmed and displayed by the instrument, will be dis-
played in the LCD and the electricaon mer will stop.
The PRS-812 provides very accurate measurements up to 1.0x10
12
ohms, and has the capability to
display values up to 2.0x10
14
ohms. However, the user should be aware that accuracy degrades rapidly
above 1.0x10
12
ohms. Errors above 1.0x10
12
ohms depends on the user’s procedures and environment.
4. An LED corresponding to the measurement’s order of magnitude will be energized
I. Measurements Greater Than 2.0x10
14
ohms:
1. If the measurement is greater than 2.0x10
14
ohms, the test voltage will remain at 100 volts and
the resistance range will be adjusted unl the upper range is exceeded.
2. (Over Level) will be displayed in the LCD, and the >14 LED will be energized.
3. Once the instrument conrms a stable measurement, if any, will be displayed in the
LCD and the electricaon mer will stop. If a stable measurement cannot be obtained at this
range will be displayed.
J. Resistance Measurements in of Operaon
To select in either Exponenal (Mode 3) or Ohms (Mode 4) Display, use the
buon to toggle through choices. Manual is used for a variety of applicaons where one
desires to override Automac funcons:
→ Measurement series where magnitude is in a dened decade and test voltage is xed.
→ When an extended electricaon period may be desired
→ Manual selecon of test voltage for measurements not used with Automac sengs
The following summarizes Operaons and assumes test leads are installed
1. Slide Baery Buss Cut O switch to posion
2. Press Red buon once to power up the instrument.
3. Select by pressing the buon unl appears in the LCD.
a. Pressing buon two (2) mes selects Exponenal display (1.0EXX)
b. Pressing the buon three (3) mes selects display in Ohms.
4. Set using the UP () and DOWN () arrow keys.
a. Range selecon is made in one-decade increments and indicated with colored LED’s.
b. For resistance ranges below <E3, use the LCD displayed decimal point (.) as a guide for set-
ng the desired decade. The <3 LED will be illuminated.
