OWNER’S RESPONSIBILITY–YOUR VEHICLE CARE PLAN
1 – PRE-DELIVERY INSPECTION
PROTON has inspected your vehicle to the recommended
manufacturer’s standard. Make sure that the PRE-DELIVERY
INSPECTION section in this service booklet is filled during the
delivery. This pre-delivery inspection shows that your new
vehicle is in good condition at the point you receive your new
vehicle.
2 – ELIGIBILITY OF WARRANTY
Make sure you follow the periodical service maintenance as
specified in this service booklet. Only service at an authorised
service outlet. Keep all receipts of the maintenance of your
vehicle. Make sure that the authorised service outlet fills the
service record.
3 – USE OF GENUINE PARTS
Always use Proton genuine parts and accessories. The replace-
ment parts must align with the same high standards as the
original equipment. The vehicle must be in compliance with
the government regulations of the vehicle safety and environ-
mental controls. The use of parts which are not in compliance
with the correct specification can cause damage or injury and
the vehicle warranty will void.
4 – PERFORMANCE OF PERIODICAL SERVICE MAINTENANCE
Make sure this vehicle operates correctly and in good condi-
tion. Make sure you follow the periodical service maintenance
as specified in this service booklet. Refer to the periodical
service maintenance in this service booklet under section
”PERIODICAL SERVICE MAINTENANCE”. Only service at an
authorised PROTON service outlet.
5 – SEVERE USAGE SERVICE MAINTENANCE
If your vehicle is used frequently under severe operating
conditions, more frequent maintenance is necessary for some
parts of the vehicle. An authorised PROTON service outlet can
recommend on these requirements. Refer to the severe usage
maintenance in this service booklet under section ”SEVERE
USAGE SERVICE MAINTENANCE”.
6 – PERIODICAL BRAKE SERVICE MAINTENANCE
All vehicles (including commercial vehicles used for taxi, hire
and driving school) are recommended to undergo periodical
inspection or service of its brakes at authorised PROTON service
outlet. All vehicles are expected to operate based on the fol-
lowing criteria:
• Use of Proton genuine brake pads/drums only at all times.
• Any replacement or repair should be carried out by au-
thorised PROTON service outlet only.
• If abnormal brake operation is found, kindly go to the
nearest authorised PROTON service outlet for repair.
Failure to adhere to the above may void the warranty to the
vehicle.
NOTE
(1) To ensure optimum performance result for new rear brake
drum and/or new brake pads, kindly ensure the brake
drum/pad usage has exceeded 1,000 km of mileage after
it has been replaced before you undergo any periodical
vehicle safety inspection by third party authorised inspec-
tion centre.
