Why is my Pulsar 79214 1 HP Swimming Pool Pump getting too hot?
    • M
      Melissa WilliamsAug 1, 2025
If your Pulsar Swimming Pool Pump is running too hot, several factors could be the cause. The line voltage may be less than 90% or more than 110% of the rated voltage; in this case, check the line voltage and consult a licensed electrician if it is low. Ensure adequate ventilation around the pump. Reducing the ambient temperature can also help. Finally, make sure to tighten any loose connections.

If your Pulsar Swimming Pool Pump is experiencing suction leaks or has lost its prime, ensure there are no leaks in the suction piping. Also, make sure the suction pipe inlet is well below the water level to prevent the pump from sucking air. Confirm that the pump is not trying to lift water and that the suction pipe is at least 2" (51mm) in diameter.
