Why is my PURSUIT Boat sluggish and losing speed and RPM?
    • D
      Derek HensleyAug 17, 2025
Your PURSUIT Boat might be sluggish due to several reasons: marine growth on the hull, a damaged propeller, weeds or line around the propeller, overloading, excessive water in the bilge, or incorrect throttle adjustments. Try cleaning the propeller, reducing the load, pumping out the bilge, and adjusting the throttle.

How to fix slow and erratic hydraulic steering on my PURSUIT C238?
    • C
      Candace YangAug 19, 2025
If the hydraulic steering on your PURSUIT Boat is slow or erratic, the steering system may be low on fluid or have air in it. Fill and bleed the system. Another cause might be a binding component in the steering system, so check, adjust, or repair any binding components. Also, the engine steering cylinder could be binding, so grease the spindle.

What to do if the engine of my PURSUIT C238 Boat is running too hot?
    • A
      Anne LopezAug 22, 2025
If your PURSUIT Boat's engine is overheating, the raw water pick-up strainer might be clogged with marine growth. Clean the pick-up. Also, the raw water pump impeller may be worn or damaged, so repair the pump.

Why does my PURSUIT C238 Boat vibrate at cruising speeds?
    • S
      Shawn BrownAug 26, 2025
Vibration at cruising speed in your PURSUIT Boat can be caused by a damaged propeller, a bent propeller or propeller shaft (repair or replace damaged components), marine growth or rope fouling the running gear (clean running gear), or an improperly trimmed engine. Trim the engine.

Why does my PURSUIT C238 wander and not hold course at cruise speeds?
    • P
      perezbrookeAug 28, 2025
If your PURSUIT Boat wanders and won't hold a course, there could be air in the steering system. Fill and bleed the system. The engine steering tab may also be corroded or out of adjustment, so replace or adjust it. Also, the engine steering cylinder could be binding, so grease the spindle.

How to troubleshoot an engine alternator not charging properly on my PURSUIT Boat?
    • H
      hernandezsandraAug 30, 2025
If the engine alternator on your PURSUIT Boat isn't charging properly, the battery cable might be loose or corroded. Clean and tighten the battery cables. Also, the engine battery isolator in the charging system may not be working properly, so replace the isolator. Finally, the battery itself could be defective, so replace the battery.

What causes my PURSUIT C238 engine to lose RPMs when not overloaded and with a clean hull?
    • J
      Jennifer ShepherdSep 2, 2025
If your PURSUIT Boat engine is losing RPMs despite not being overloaded and having a clean hull, it could be due to a sticky anti-siphon valve in the fuel line restricting fuel flow. Remove, clean, or replace the anti-siphon valve. The remote gasoline fuel filter or the primary fuel filter on the engine could be dirty, so inspect and replace them. The electronic engine control system or the fuel injection system might also be malfunctioning; in that case, repair the engine control system or the fuel injection system.

    Jeffrey WhitakerSep 5, 2025
What to do if my PURSUIT C238 Boat engine won't start in neutral?
    • M
      Michael EllisSep 5, 2025
If your PURSUIT Boat engine won't start in neutral, the shift control lever might not be in the neutral detent. Try moving the shift lever slightly. Also, there might be a loose wire on the neutral safety switch on the transmission, so inspect wires and repair loose connections.

Why is the livewell pump running but not pumping water in my PURSUIT C238 Boat?
    • S
      Shelly HernandezSep 7, 2025
If the livewell pump in your PURSUIT Boat runs but doesn't pump water, the strainer on the intake scoop may be clogged. Put the boat in reverse to clean the strainer. There could also be an air lock in the system; running the boat above 15 mph should force the air lock past the pump and prime the system. Ensure that the thru-hull valve and the valve in the livewell are open.

Why won't my PURSUIT Boat engine operate over 2000 RPM?
    • R
      Richard JacobsonSep 12, 2025
If your PURSUIT Boat engine suddenly won't operate over 2000 RPM, the engine emergency system may have been activated. Find and correct the problem.
