SAFETY
1. IMPORTANT INSTRUCTIONS
1. Use the cooktop only in household-type
situations for the preparation and warm-
ing of food. All other types of use void the
guarantee.
2. Individuals who are incapable of using the
appliance safely because of their physi-
cal, sensory or mental capabilities or their
lack of experience or knowledge must not
use this appliance without supervision or
instruction by a responsible person.
3. Children shall not play with the appliance.
4. Children under 8 years of age must be
kept away from the cooktop unless they
are under constant supervision.
5. Children 8 years and older must only be
allowed to use the cooktop if they have
been given supervision or instruction con-
cerning use of the appliance in a safe way
and understand the hazards involved.
6. Cleaning and user maintenance shall not
be made by children without supervision.
7. Installation, repair and maintenance work
should only be performed by an author-
ized service technician. Work by unqual-
ied persons could be dangerous for the
user.
8. No combustible materials or products
should be placed on this appliance at any
time.
9. This appliance is to be properly installed
and earthed only by a suitable qualied
person.
10. This appliance is to be connected to a
circuit which incorporates an isolating
switch providing full disconnection from
the power supply.
11. Failure to install the appliance correctly
could invalidate any warranty or liability
claims.
12. Never leave the appliance unattended
when in use. Boil over causes smoking
and greasy spillovers that may ignite.
13. Never use your appliance as a work or
storage surface.
14. Never leave any objects or utensils on
the appliance as metal objects can heat
up.
15. Never use your appliance for warming
or heating the room.
16. After use, always turn o the cooking
zones and the cooktop as described in
this manual.
17. Do not repair or replace any part of the
appliance unless specically recom-
mended in the manual. All other servic-
ing should be done by a qualied tech-
nician.
18. Do not place or drop heavy objects on
your cooktop.
19. Do not use pans with jagged edges or
drag pans across the ceramic glass sur-
face as this can scratch the glass.
20. Handles of saucepans may be hot to
touch. Check saucepan handles do not
overhang other cooking zones that are
on.
21. Keep handles out of reach of children.
22. Failure to follow this advice could result
in burns and scalds.
