5.4 STARTING THE ENGINE

Once all checks described in the «5.1 Preliminary checks» section
have been carried out, you may proceed to start engine as follows:
• Place the vehicle on its centre-stand with the rear wheel lifted off the
ground and release the parking brake lever «1 - Fig. 01» lowering it
from «2 - Fig. 01» to «3 - Fig. 01»
• Insert the key in the ignition switch and rotate it to «ON».
• Keep the throttle control in the closed position.
• While pulling the front brake lever press the starter button as shown
in (Fig. 02).
Never start the engine without its airbox.
Dust or foreign objects may enter the engine, damaging
it.
After starting the engine ride at moderate speeds during
the first few minutes.A correct engine warm-up limits
the emissions and reduces fuel consumption.
