LEVEL CHECKS
• Wait for 5 minutes after switching off the engine.
• Rest the vehicle on its centre stand and on level ground.
• Loosen and remove the filler plug/dipstick «1 - Fig. 02» and dry it
with a clean rug.
• Refit and tighten the filler plug/dipstick «1 - Fig. 02».
• Loosen and remove the filler plug/dipstick «1 - Fig. 02» for a se-
cond time and check that the oil level is now between «MIN» and
«MAX» marks as show in the figure Fig. 01.
Running the engine with insufficient or contaminated oil
will cause engine damage. If the low oil pressure indica-
tor remains on, stop the engine immediately.
TOP UP
Any oil top up must occur only after level check.
If the oil level is below the MIN marking, add oil a little at a time through
the filler plug hole until the correct level is reached (see explanation in
the section “Check” of this paragraph).
For top ups, proceed as follows:
• Remove the filler plug/dipstick and add oil.
• Check that the oil level is between the «MIN» and «MAX» marks
(Fig. 02).
