This document is an installation, operation, and maintenance manual for the Quality Lifts Model EQ10 Two Post Surface Mounted Lift.
Function Description:
The Quality Lifts Model EQ10 is a two-post, surface-mounted automotive lift designed for indoor use in service bays. Its primary function is to safely raise and lower vehicles for maintenance and repair, providing access to the underside of the vehicle. The lift is designed to handle a significant load, making it suitable for a wide range of vehicles. It incorporates safety features such as arm restraints, an overhead limit switch, and a lock release system to ensure secure operation. The lift operates hydraulically, using a power unit to drive the lifting mechanism, and includes synchronizing cables to ensure balanced lifting.

- Hydraulic Fluid: 10 wt. anti-foam, anti-rust hydraulic / biodegradable oil or Dexron III ATF. Do NOT use oils with detergents.
Usage Features:
- Two-Post Design: Provides clear access to the vehicle's underside and wheels.
- Surface Mounted: Installed directly on the concrete floor, simplifying installation compared to in-ground lifts.
- Adjustable Arms: Features both short and long arms with adjustable screw pads to accommodate a variety of vehicle types and lifting points. The arms are designed to engage vehicle manufacturer's lift points.
- Arm Restraints: Gears engage and disengage properly to secure the arms during lifting and disengage when fully lowered.
- Overhead Limit Switch: Prevents the lift from raising too high, protecting the vehicle and the lift structure.
- Synchronized Lifting: Cables ensure that both carriages raise and lower simultaneously and into the same lock position, maintaining vehicle stability.
- Mechanical Lock Release System: Allows operators to safely lower the vehicle by disengaging the safety latches.
- Safety Decals: Comprehensive safety warnings and instructions are prominently displayed on the lift, emphasizing safe operation practices.
- Dedicated Circuit: Requires a dedicated electrical circuit with a circuit breaker or time delay fuse for safe and reliable power.
- Indoor Use: Specifically evaluated for indoor operation within a defined temperature range.
Maintenance Features:
- Daily Checks:
- Keep lift components clean.
- Check for loose or broken parts.
- Check hydraulic system for fluid leaks.
- Check adapters for damage or excessive wear; replace with genuine Challenger Lifts parts if needed.
- Check lock release activation to ensure proper engagement and disengagement.
- Weekly Checks:
- Check synchronizer cables and sheaves for wear; replace with genuine Challenger Lifts parts if needed.
- Check synchronizer cable tension and adjust as necessary. If both threaded ends of either cable are fully adjusted, replace both cables as a set.
- Monthly Checks:
- Torque concrete anchor bolts to 80 ft-lbs.
- Check overhead shutoff switch operation.
- Lubricate carriage slide tracks with heavy viscous grease at all four corners of both columns.
- Visually inspect the concrete floor for cracks and/or spalls within 12" of the base plate.
- Hydraulic System Maintenance:
- Bleed air from cylinders if the lift stops short or chatters.
- Pressure test the hydraulic system after installation and periodically check for leaks.
- Wipe down cylinder rods to prevent lubricant from appearing as a leak.
- Decal Replacement: Replace any missing, worn, faded, or damaged safety, warning, or caution labels promptly.
- Qualified Personnel: All maintenance and inspection tasks should be performed by qualified personnel following lockout/tagout instructions per ANSI Z244.1.
- Documentation: Maintain periodic inspection and maintenance records as recommended by the manufacturer or ANSI/ALI ALOIM.
