'AN' BOLT GAUGE
In addition to 'AN' bolts, this aircraft kit includes the use of 'grade' bolts. The most recognizable
difference is that 'AN' bolts have a FINE THREAD while 'GRADE' bolts have a COARSE THREAD.
Additionally, the 'AN' bolt head usually has 'C-X-S', 'X' or AFS embossed on it. Whereas a 'Grade'
bolt usually has THREE radiating lines and a letter or number on its head. DO NOT USE a 'Grade'
bolt unless it is specified!
NOTE: 'AN' bolts are used throughout the construction of the aircraft for structural integrity.
NEVER USE SUBSTITUTES! See your Quicksilver Rep for replacements if necessary.
For reference, the Gauge below is shown to determine the 'type' and the APPROXIMATE length of
'AN' Bolts. For more accurate information, use an approved gauge and DO NOT USE the illustration
as a substitute.
For SCALE REFERENCE:
Between 10 and 20 = 1”
The illustrated bolt length is 1-5/8”
