What to do if no water is running over the pads in my QuietCool QC48B2 Air Cleaner?

      Steven MorenoJul 30, 2025
First, check your water flow valve to ensure it's open. QuietCool units usually operate best at 1 ¼ turns. Also, verify the main water supply valve is open and the pump switch is on. The water filter may be clogged; remove the cooling pads (see section 6.2), open the back of the unit, open the water filter, pull out the filter screen, and clean it. Replace and try again.

What to do if I found water on the floor after overnight shut off of my QuietCool QC48B2 Air Cleaner?

Check your water pressure, the maximum water pressure should be 413 KPA (60 p.s.i.). Adjust the water supply valve to 1 ¼ turns or install a water pressure regulator. If the float valve may be stuck in open position due to contaminants in the water, drain the cooler sump and refill. If the float remains stuck, remove the pads and examine the float for debris or damage, wash out any debris and replace the float.

Why is there water on the floor behind my QuietCool QC48B2?

      Alex CarlsonAug 7, 2025
This could be due to damage to the polyethylene housing, so check for cracks in the blue polyethylene, or excess water at the top or bottom of the pads. Reduce the water flow with the water control valve located on the front of the unit. Search for leaks and repair as necessary. Push the bottom of the cooling pads gently inside to stop leaking.

How to get rid of foul odor from new QuietCool Air Cleaner?
    • J
      Jonathan Price Jr.Aug 12, 2025
The new pad may have a temporary odor, which is normal and may be from the thermosetting resin. It will pass. To reduce the smell, drain and refill the unit several times during the first week. You can also add QC Tablets to reduce the smell and algae.

This is likely due to too much water. Reduce the water flow with the water control valve located on the front of the unit. Close the valve all the way, then open 1 ¼ turns.

How to prevent scale build-up on QuietCool QC48B2 cooling pads?
    • S
      Sheila PadillaAug 25, 2025
Scale build-up is caused by hard water with excessive mineral content. Use Evapo-O-Matic Tablets or add a Water Stabilizer at the discharge side of the pump. Also, flush water from the unit’s water reservoir more frequently.
