Usage Features:
Before starting the brush cutter, users must ensure proper preparation and safety.
- Fuel: Use unleaded gasoline with an octane rating of 95. A lower octane can cause engine knocking and overheating. The fuel should be mixed with high-quality two-stroke oil at a 25:1 ratio (25 parts gasoline to 1 part oil) in a clean container.
- Air Filter: Regularly check and clean the air filter to prevent carburetor malfunctions and rapid engine wear. Never operate the engine without an air filter.
- Assembly: Connect the engine to the pipe using four screws. Assemble the handles, adjusting their height for an optimal working position, and tighten the bolts. Install the cutting attachment guard.
- Cutting Attachments: When fitting the cutting equipment (grass blade or trimmer head), ensure the supporting flange aligns correctly with the central hole of the attachment. Incorrect installation can lead to serious injuries. The grass blade is secured with a nut tightened to a torque of 35-50 Nm (left-hand thread). For the trimmer head, screw it onto the shaft in the opposite direction of rotation. If the cord length is insufficient, press the button in the middle of the trimmer head and pull the cord to the desired length.
- Shoulder Strap: Adjust the shoulder strap for the most comfortable working position, ensuring the cutting attachment is parallel to the ground. The optimized shaft length and 35-degree bevel gear facilitate cutting parallel to the ground.
- Starting the Engine: Switch the ignition key to the starting position. If the engine is cold or the ambient temperature is low, set the choke control to the choke position. After starting, allow the engine to warm up before gradually returning the choke control. A sign of needing to return the choke is thick smoke from the tailpipe. For a warm engine or high ambient temperatures, do not use the choke. When pulling the manual starter, adopt a stable position to counter potential kickback. Gently pull the starter handle until resistance is felt, then pull sharply. Do not allow the starter rope to snap back; return it gently to prevent damage. After starting, increase the engine speed with the throttle lever.
- Operation: Always hold the machine with both hands. Mow grass with a pendulum-like, sideways motion. The movement from right to left is the clearing stroke, and from left to right is the return stroke. Work rhythmically and stand firmly. Move forward after the return stroke. Avoid cutting through freshly mown grass during the return stroke and work at full throttle to reduce the risk of the cutting tool getting clogged. Never operate the brush cutter without the safety guard (6) installed, and do not use it higher than 76 cm above the ground.
- Stopping the Engine: Reduce engine speed by releasing the throttle lever. Allow the engine to run for about 30 seconds, then switch the ignition key to the "0" (Stop) position. Always collect grass clippings after stopping the engine and waiting for the blade to cease rotation.
Maintenance Features:
Regular maintenance is crucial for optimal performance and extended lifespan.
- Safety First: Always switch off the engine before any maintenance work.
- Authorized Service: Inspections and maintenance should be performed by authorized personnel unless you possess the necessary tools and skills.
- Cooling: Allow the engine and manifold to cool down to prevent burns from hot surfaces.
- Protection: Wear protective gloves to avoid cuts from sharp elements.
- Cleaning: Clean grass stuck to the blade and apply anti-corrosion grease.
- Fuel Storage: Drain all fuel from the engine if storing the brush cutter for more than a month.
- Air Filter Cleaning: Remove the air filter and clean it with a solvent, allowing it to dry completely. Do not use flammable liquids for cleaning.
- Spark Plug Maintenance: The recommended spark plug types are Champion RCJ7Y, NGK BPMR7A, or NHSP LD L8RTF. Ensure proper electrode distance and clean deposits. Remove the spark plug cap by pulling the handle, not the cable. Visually inspect the spark plug; replace if worn, broken, or cracked. Clean with a copper wire brush if in good condition and screw it back into the cylinder head, tightening a new spark plug an additional 1/2 turn after it seats.
- Ventilation: Ensure engine ventilation openings are clean and free from obstructions.
- Periodic Checks: The manual includes a table outlining periodic maintenance tasks, such as checking and cleaning the air filter, checking the spark plug, and replacing the gasoline hose every two years.
- Transportation and Storage: Allow the engine to cool before transporting. Store the machine in a dry, dust-free place and cover it to prevent dust. For repairs, use only original spare parts from qualified RAIDER service centers.
Safety Precautions:
- Keep children and bystanders at a safe distance (at least 15m) from the mowing area.
- Remove stones, wires, glass, and metal objects from the work area.
- Be cautious on slippery, uneven, or sloping terrain. Do not use on slopes greater than 10° (17%).
- Work only in daylight or strong artificial light.
- Gasoline is highly flammable; refuel in a clean, airy place with the engine off, away from open flames or sparks.
- Do not run the engine in enclosed spaces due to toxic carbon monoxide.
- Always switch off the engine and remove the spark plug pipe before working on rotating elements or cleaning.
- Wear safety goggles, earmuffs, a helmet, protective gloves, and reinforced safety shoes.
- Do not touch solid objects while mowing.
- Do not modify the knife in any way.
- This machine generates an electromagnetic field; individuals with medical implants should consult their physician before use.
- Prolonged vibration exposure may cause "Reynolds" syndrome; take breaks, keep warm, and perform physical exercises.
