wire rope does not exceed 1.5° (see Figure 2).The minimum
recommendedfleeting distancefor the R7PT‐12 is 19 ft. (5.8 M).
Fleetingdistanceslessthanthismaycauseimproperspooling.
The R7PT‐12AK is equipped with an automatic level that is
designedtogreatly reduce the fleetingdistanceand increasethe
allowablefleetangle.RefertoSection 2.1 GeneralSpecifications
for these details.
The mounting of the levelwind is designed to
accommodate various wire rope take off angles. If the rigging
path for aspecificapplication differs from the mountinglocation
supplied from the factory, contact Ram Winch and Hoist for
informationonrelocatingthelevelwindassembly.
The R7PT is equipped with drum guard
panels that can be
removed if necessary for servicing the unit or changing out wire
rope.Always install the guard to minimize the chance of the
operator or other personnel from coming into contact with the
rotatingdrumand the wire rope.In addition, the wedge pocket

Installing the wire rope requires operating the winch with drum

with the equipment in this configuration and verify that all
personnel working in the area understand the inherent danger.
