isapneumaticallypowered,planetarygearedunitdesigned
for handling utility loads.The unit is equipped with a
failsafediscbrake,designedfor125%oftheratedcapacity,
as well as an automatically operated brake band that acts
directly on the winch cable drum also
designed for 125%.
Intheeventofalossofpneumaticsupplytothewinch,the
disc brake and band brake will automatically engage.The
gearbox,mountedinsidethewinchdrum,isdrivenbyafive
cylinderradialpistonpneumaticmotor.
Manyagenciesorcertifyingbodiesrequireawinchequippedwith
a variety of optional accessories and features to meet particular
safetyrequirements.It is theowner’sand user’s responsibility to
determine the suitability of the equipment for their particular
application.
The winch drum rotates on the roller bearings of the
gearbox and a roller bearing on the non‐drive end frame
with convenient lubrication access.The winch frame is
rigidlyboltedandpinnedtoensureproperalignmentofthe
drumshaftandgearbox.
Control of the winch, for both speed
and direction of the
winch drum, can be accommodated by a local control
valve.A local emergency stop button is also supplied to
permit an immediate shut‐down and setting of the brakes
oncedepressed.
Thewinchisalsosuppliedwithanautomaticlevelwindand
drumguards.Theguardsareintended
toprohibitaccessto
thewireropeandtherotatingdrum.
Neveroperatethewinchwithoutthedrumguardsinstalled.
