Charging from a cigarette lighter socket
Only charge the start booster from the
cigarette lighter socket while the car engine
is running; otherwise the car battery will
run at.
Do not start the motor while the direct
current lead is connected to the cigarette
lighter socket.
1. Connectthedirectcurrentlead(15)to
thesocket(7).
2. Connectthedirectcurrentleadtothe
cigarette lighter socket.
3. Thechargingindicator(6)ashes
several times, and the battery charges
up.
The charging indicator shows the
condition of the battery continually
(red=0-50%,green=50-100%).
Chargingisstoppedautomatically
when the battery is fully charged.
Use
Power supply for 12 V appliances.
The start booster can be used as a power
supplyfor12Vappliances(max.10A).Thus
thetotalloadmustnotexceed120W,as
this will overload and damage the start
booster.
1. Openthe12Voutputsocketcover(4).
2. Connecttheappliancetobesupplied
with12VDCtotheoutputsocketusing
theDClead.
Thepositionoftheon/oswitch(10)is
not important.
Jump starting
Thestartboostercanbeusedasajump
starter for a car or boat whose battery is
partly discharged.
Thestartboosterisnotsuitableasajump
starter if the other battery is totally at.
Handlethebatteryclipsoneatatimeto
avoidshort-circuiting.Alwaysleavethe
battery clips in place on the start booster
when they are not in use.
If the battery clips are tted with the wrong
polarity,theindicatorlamp(8)willshowred.
Newer cars are often equipped with many
electronicmodules(e.g.ABSbrakes,fuel
injection,motorcontrol,GPS,mobile
phones),whichmaybedamagedbythe
high start voltage and voltage peaks.
Alwaysreadtheinstructionmanualofthe
car, and possibly the instructions for the
equipment before using the start booster.
1. Checkthattheengineignitionlockisin
the OFF position.
2. Connecttheredbatteryclip(1)tothe
battery’spositive(+)terminal.
3. Connecttheblackbatteryclip(3)to
theCHASSIS(themotoritselforthecar
body)asfarawayfromthebatteryas
possible.
Theindicatorlamp(8)willshowgreenif
the connection is correct.
4. Turn on the start booster by turning the
on/obutton(10)totheONposition.
5. Turn the engine ignition lock to ON.
Do not start the engine yet.
6. Waitaboutveminutes.
7. Start the engine.
DonotkeeptheignitionintheSTART
positionformorethan5-6secondsat
a time.
8. Ifthemotordoesnotstart:Waitatleast
three minutes, and then repeat the
procedure.
9. Whenthemotorisrunning,turno
thestartboosterbyturningtheon/o
button(10)totheOFFposition.
10.Removetheblackbatterycliprst.
11.Replaceitonthestartbooster.
12.Thenremovetheredbatteryclip.
