3.10Selectingalocationforthe
transducer
Thisproductissuppliedwithatransommount
transducer.Theguidelinesbelowshouldbefollowed
whenselectingalocationforthetransducer.
Note:Thetransducerisnotsuitableformounting
onvesselswherethetransomisaftofthe
propeller(s).
Forbestperformancethetransducermustbe
installedinalocationwiththeleastturbulenceand
aeration.Themosteffectivewaytodeterminethis
isbycheckingthewaterowaroundthetransom
whilstunderway.

Mountclosetothekeel(centerline),inaposition
wherethetransducerelementwillbefully
submergedwhenthevesselisplaningandturning.
Mountasuitabledistancefromthepropeller(s)to
avoidwake.
Forclockwiserotatingpropellers,mount
thetransduceronthestarboardside,for
counter-clockwise,mountontheportside.
Onatwinenginevesselmountthetransducer
betweentheengines.
Turbulencecanbecausedbyanumberofother
factorssuchassteps(1),ribs(2),rowsofrivets
(3)andstrakes(4).Theturbulenceappearsaft
oftheselocations.

Ifinstallingonthestepofasteppedtransom,
allowsufcientroomabovethetransducerfor
transducerkickup.
