Overview

The provided document is an owner's manual for the Razor MX125/SX125 Youth Sport Electric Motocross Bike.

Function Description:

The Razor MX125/SX125 is a youth sport electric motocross bike designed for recreational use. It is an electric ride-on product intended for children aged 7 years and older, with a maximum weight limit of 110 lb (50 kg). The bike is designed to provide an authentic motocross experience with an electric motor. It features a speed control on the hand grip and a brake system for stopping. The product is primarily for outdoor use on flat, dry surfaces like pavement or level ground, avoiding loose debris, wet, slick, bumpy, uneven, or rough surfaces. It is not designed for stunts, tricks, racing, or other aggressive maneuvers.

Important Technical Specifications:

  • Speed: Normal powered top speed is approximately 8 mph (13 km/h).
  • Motor: 12V/100W motor.
  • Battery: 12V/5Ah sealed non-spillable lead-acid battery.
  • Charge Time: Initial charge time is 12 hours. Recharge time is up to 6 hours (recommended maximum 24 hours).
  • Run Time: Up to 40 minutes of continuous ride time, which can vary based on riding conditions, climate, and maintenance.
  • Weight Limit: 110 lb (50 kg).
  • Recommended Age: 7 years and older.
  • Assembly: 95% assembled at the factory; estimated assembly time is up to 15 minutes.

Usage Features:

  • Starting: Turn the power switch to "ON," place both hands on the handlebars, push forward with one foot, and then apply the throttle.
  • Stopping: Release the throttle and apply the brake. For a complete stop, place both feet on the ground to balance the unit.
  • Safety Switch: The brake lever includes a safety switch that cuts power to the motor when the brake is applied, ensuring the product stops moving in an emergency.
  • Tire Inflation: Tires are inflated at shipment but require inflation to the correct PSI before first use. Periodic checks and re-inflation are necessary.
  • Riding Environment: Intended for use on flat, dry surfaces, away from cars and motor vehicle traffic. Avoid riding at night or when visibility is limited, near steps or swimming pools.
  • Riding Attire: Always wear proper protective equipment, including an approved safety helmet (with chin strap), elbow pads, and kneepads. A long-sleeved shirt, long pants, gloves, and athletic shoes (lace-up with rubber soles) are recommended. Never ride barefoot or in sandals.
  • Charger: Use only the recommended charger. The charger has built-in overcharge protection. The charger's LED light indicates charging status (red for charging, green for complete).

Maintenance Features:

  • Pre-Ride Checklist: Before each ride, check the brake for proper function, inspect tires for wear and proper inflation, check the frame, fork, and handlebars for cracks or broken connections, and ensure all hardware (nuts, bolts, cables, fasteners) are secure.
  • Battery Care:
    • Charge immediately after riding.
    • Fully charge before storing for extended periods.
    • Unplug the charger when not in use.
    • Do not store in freezing temperatures, as this can permanently damage the battery.
    • Recharge at least once a month to prevent the battery from losing its ability to hold a charge.
    • The battery is a sealed non-spillable lead-acid battery and must be recycled.
  • Brake Adjustment: The brake lever has a cable adjuster to compensate for cable stretch. Instructions are provided for adjusting the tension and, if necessary, loosening the brake anchor cable for additional adjustment.
  • Chain and Rear Wheel Replacement: Detailed instructions are provided for removing the chain guard, disconnecting the brake cable, loosening locknuts, removing the chain and wheel, installing a new chain and wheel, and reassembling.
  • Front Wheel Replacement: Instructions are provided for removing locknuts and safety washers, replacing the front wheel, and reassembling.
  • Front Fender and Number Plate Attachment: Instructions are provided for attaching the front fender with a Phillips screwdriver and snapping the number plate into place.
  • Charger Inspection: The charger should be regularly examined for damage to the cord, plug, enclosure, and other parts. Do not charge if damaged until repaired or replaced.
  • Wheels and Drive System: Subject to normal wear and tear; users are responsible for periodically inspecting wheels for excess wear and adjusting/replacing drive train components.
  • Troubleshooting Guide: Provides solutions for common issues such as the product not running, sudden stops, short run time, sluggish performance, intermittent operation, brake issues, and loud noises.
  • Replacement Parts: Available for purchase at Razor retail partners or via www.razor.com.
  • Storage: Store indoors when not in use to protect from prolonged exposure to UV rays, rain, and other elements that may damage enclosure materials.
