Functions of Remote Buttons
Most of the remote control buttons perform the same function as the corresponding controls on the camcorder.
You can use whichever are more convenient at the time.
Notes: Before using the remote for the first time, remove the plastic film covering the battery cell.
An RCA VCR that responds to the VCR 2 button on the VCR’s remote may respond to this remote control.

l Press COUNTER RES to reset the time counter to
“0:00:00”.
l Press COUNTER MEM during recording to
display amount of recording time left on the tape.
l Press COUNTER MEM during playback to turn
memory stop on and off.

DISPLAY Button
l Press DISPLAY to see the viewfinder’s displays
on the TV screen when the camcorder is
connected to a TV.
l Press DISPLAY again to remove them.
FEWD (Fast Forward) Button
l Press F.FWD when the camcorder’s POWER
switch is in PLAY to fast forward the tape.
l During playback or fast forward operation, press
and hold F.FWD to visually search forward on the
tape. Release F.FWD to return to normal
playback or fast forward operation.
PLAY Button
Press PLAY when the camcorder’s POWER switch is
in PLAY to begin playback.
PAUSE Button (Same as (II ) on camcorder.)
l During playback, press PAUSE to produce a stop-
action picture.
l Press PAUSE again (or PLAY) to return to normal
playback.
REW (Rewind) Button
l Press REW when the camcorder’s POWER switch
is in PLAY to rewind the tape.
l During playback or rewind, press and hold REW
to visually search the tape in reverse. Release
REW to return to normal playback or rewind.
SCENE SEARCH + and - Buttons
l During record pause, press and release SCENE
SEARCH - to review the last few seconds of
recorded material.
l During record pause, press and hold SCENE
SEARCH + or - to visually search tape forward or
reverse. Release button to return to record pause.
START/STOP Button (Same as Thumb Trigger)
l Press and release STARTJSTOP when the POWER
switch is in CAM to start and stop recording.
l The tally light lights during recording.
STOP Button
l Press when camcorder’s POWER switch is in
PLAY to stop playback, rewind, or fast forward.
ZOOM (T and W) Buttons
Camcorder’s POWER switch in CAM:
l Press T to move the lens in the telephoto (close
up) direction.
l Press W to move the lens in the wide angle
direction.
