), TAPE and TAPE END Indicators

The dew indicator appears when excessive
moisture is in the camcorder or cassette. The
camcorder’s buttons will not operate except
to eject the cassette. Press EJECT and
remove the cassette from the camcorder.
Place the camcorder in a warm, dry area until
the
B
indicator disappears (approximately
one hour). When it disappears, the
camcorder will operate.
l TAPE appears when approximately five
minutes of recording time is left on the tape.
l TAPE END appears when the end of the tape
is reached during recording.

Time Counter with Memory Stop or Tape
Time Remaining Display
The time counter appears here during
recording or playback.
l
Press
COUNTER RESET
to reset the counter
to
“0:OO:OO”
when you start recording or
playing back a tape.
POWER set to PLAY:
l Press COUNTER MEM (memory) to turn the
time counter’s memory stop feature on or off.
An M appears in front of the time counter
when memory stop is on.
POWER set to CAM (Camera):
*During recording, press COUNTER MEM
(memory) to change the time counter display
to the tape time remaining display. After a
few seconds, the display returns to the time
counter.
l
These displays are not recorded when they
appear.

7 Manual Focus Indicators

Press
FOCUS ON/OFF
to turn off auto focus
and focus manually. AUTO LOCK must be
out of AUTO LOCK. The MF indicator will
appear in the viewfinder during manual focus.

will appear when using
MANUAL FOCUS + or
-.
*This display is not recorded when it appears.

Press FOCUS ON/OFF again to return to
auto focus. No indicator appears when using
auto focus.

that has its safety tab closed.

Time and Date Display
POWER set to CAM (Camera):
l Press DATE/TIME to display or remove the
time and date (or date) from the viewfinder
after they are set.
. This display will be recorded on the tape
whenever it appears.

“88:88”
appears if the time and date have not
been set or when the clock battery is not
installed correctly or needs replacing.
