A suitable gas supply needs to be provided at the right hand side of the timber frame cavity. This is as looking at
the cavity from the side which will be the open side of the fi re. See installation drawing. The pipe sizing should be
calculated to supply gas to suit the megajoule rating of the fi re. See rating chart. The gas supply should be
reduced down to 10mm copper pipe at the fi replace location and left with a coil of approx 1 metre to feed into the
fi rebox.
Gas supply
An electrical supply will be required for the fi re. This should be by means of a wall switch provided by an electri-
cian, located on the outside of the framing housing the fi rebox. Not inside the framing cavity. See installation
drawing for preferred location of switch.
Electrical supply
The through wall fi re is complete with an insulation kit. The insulation kit allows the fi re to be installed with minimal
timber clearances: 10mm minimum from the sides of the fi rebox, 25mm minimum clearance from the top of the
fi rebox. Timber clearance from the fl ue is also 25mm. There is no requirement for any additional fi reproof
materials within the fi replace cavity providing minimum clearances are allowed.
Insulation Kit & Timber Clearance
It is important to confi rm the height the fi re is to be installed above the fl oor level. This is usually the hearth
height. For example if the hearth is 100mm high then the fi re needs to be 100mm high ( note- some elevated
installations specify the fi re higher than the hearth) Once the height is confi rmed a platform needs to be built to
support the fi rebox. The platform can be of timber construction. It needs to be sturdy and level.
