ELEGANCE COLUMN A-1
Particularities at Placing
To prevent tipping over, please ensure that the Column A-1 are posed vertically
on a plain, non-billowy subsoil. Unsuitable are, e.g., shaggy carpets which do
not warrant a safe standing.
The upright speakers REVOX ELEGANCE COLUMN A-1 should be placed upright,
with a distance of at least 30 cm to the walls. A „lining-up“ of the speakers towards
the hearing seat can have an advantageous acoustic effect as thereby refl ections on
the neighboring room walls are reduced.
The positioning of the column loudspeakers immediately on the wall or in the angle
of the room mostly causes a signifi cant overemphasis of the basses. This effect
is reinforced additionally in rooms with light furnishing since this hardly has an
absorbent effect on low frequencies.
The bass behavior of upright speakers can be controlled by the distance of the
speakers to the walls. According to the acoustic actualities of your living room
very signifi cant changes in the bass volume can occur between the possibilities
„larger distance (slimmer bass)“ and „in the angle of the room (beefi er bass)“.
So it is to be recommended to determine the best tonal balance by shifting the
upright speakers cm by cm.
As your ELEGANCE COLUMN A-1 are magnetically shielded you can set up them
near television sets as well.
Connecting the ELEGANCE COLUMN A-1
ATTENTION!
Before establishing the necessary links to your hi-fi installation (amplifi er, receiver,
output stage etc.) you should disconnect these from mains in any case.
Connect the speaker outputs A or B on the rear side of your amplifi er with the
appropriate gold-plated screw terminals which are located on the bottom the Column
A-1. For this, use loudspeaker wiring with skinned ends.
Please ensure here particularly the correct polarity of the cables used.
An invalid polarity will result in a very bad tonal balance up to lack of basses as
well as in an indistinct stereo image.
Tighten the screw terminals well because otherwise they can cause side noise.
