ELEGANCE SHELF A-1
Placing the ELEGANCE SHELF A-1 in the Stereo System
The SHELF A-1 are placed optimally if the base width (distance of the speaker to
each other) is slightly smaller than the hearing distance (space between listener and
speaker). The placement in ear height (± 30 cm) and the alignment towards the
hearing seat is to be recommended. With that, the loudspeakers should radiate from
an acoustic hard, refl ecting environment into the more attenuated portion of the
hearing room. Please note, that wide smooth walls without furnishing on the side
opposite to the speakers may cause unpleasant refl ections.
The sound radiation must not be impeded by objects. The listener should see both
speakers completely uncovered!
The SHELF A-1 are very well suited for operation in a bookrack or on a sideboard.
They can be operated in a horizontal position too - in order to use one of them
as a center speaker in the multichannel system. The best radiating behavior will
result, however, in a vertical position.
Fix the self-adhesive rubber feet supplied on the bottom of the case.
As your ELEGANCE SHELF A-1 are magnetically shielded you can set up them
near television sets as well.
Wall Mounting of the ELEGANCE SHELF A-1
For wall mounting Revox offers a special global-joint wall-mount (part #:
1.084.606.00) which allows a wide pivoting range and can be anchored to the
wall by a fl ange. On the part of the speaker, three small screws are provided for
fi xing. Please read the accurate instructions from the mounting manual enclosed
with the wall bracket.
Placing the ELEGANCE SHELF A-1 in the Home Cinema System
The Elegance Shelf A-1 can be employed in a multichannel system as well.
Please be aware of the hints for the placement of the main speakers noted above.
Employment of the ELEGANCE SHELF A-1 as a Rear (Rear/Effect) Speaker
The background effects in the analog surround mode should be radiated as
diffusely as possible. Thereby it will be made possible to the listener to imagine
a wide and deep room.
Sound waves which get from the effect speakers to the hearing seat on the direct
way are undesirable. I.e., the sound shall reach the listener‘s ear only after as many
indirect routes as possible by refl ections on walls or fi tments, resp.
