Running-in rules
The first 1,000 km (max. 2/3 of the nominal revs.)
During the first operating hours and until all moveable parts
have reached perfect interaction, the engine is subject to
higher inner friction. The degree of running-in achieved
mainly depends on the driving style of the first 1,000 km.
Running-in rule for the brake
The brake of a new vehicle also needs a running-in time
on the first 100 to 200 km.
Running-in the brake pads leads to longer stopping
distances, resp. braking paths of the vehicle.
