  If the winch is working, but the platform is hard to raise, consider these possibilities: * The platform might be binding because the frame isn't square or level in the water. * There may be broken wires. * The sheaves are binding and need inspection, lubrication, or replacement. * Cables may be excessively worn and need replacing, following the wire rope inspection procedure. * The load might exceed the rated capacity, so reduce the weight. * User-installed locking devices may be in place and should be removed. * Auxiliary equipment might be improperly hung on the lift and should be removed permanently.
