Why is my RGC Lifting Systems platform difficult or impossible to raise even though the winch is working?
    • M
      Morgan JohnsonAug 11, 2025
If the winch seems to be working fine, but raising the platform is difficult or impossible, several factors could be at play. The platform might be binding because the frame isn't square or level in the water; in this case, refer to Sections 3.6 and 3.7. Other potential issues include broken wires (refer to Section 5.2), binding sheaves (inspect, lubricate, or replace them), excessively worn cables (replace as needed and follow the wire rope inspection procedure in Section 5.2), exceeding the rated load capacity (reduce weight accordingly; the capacity is determined by the first two digits of your lift number times 100), user or dealer installed locking devices (remove them), or auxiliary equipment improperly hung on the lift (remove permanently).

How to fix an RGC Lifting Systems boat lift that isn't lifting level?
    • R
      Ryan ThompsonAug 17, 2025
If your boat lift isn't lifting level, with the stern higher or lower than the bow, it could be due to the frame not being level in the water. Try relocating the pin connections between the adjustable and vertical legs. Alternatively, the frame might be level, but the spreader tube cables aren't tight enough. In this case: 1. Tighten down the cable stud nut to add tension to the B-C spreader tube cable. 2. Tighten down the cable stud nut to add tension to the A-D spreader tube cable. Ensure the B-C and A-D spreader tube cables have equal tension and that the platform is level.

Why does the winch on my RGC VL3000 resist raising the platform?
    • S
      Samantha WardAug 23, 2025
If the winch resists raising the platform, it may be because the winch has been incorrectly reeved. The winch must turn clockwise to raise the platform; refer to Section 3.10. Also, inspect, lubricate, or replace any sheaves that are binding. If the winch cable is rubbing against the winch frame, repeat the winch reeving process, again referring to Section 3.10.

What to do if lowering my RGC VL3000 Lifting Systems triggers freewheeling of the handwheel?
    • C
      Charles CrawfordAug 29, 2025
If lowering the platform causes the handwheel to 'freewheel,' it could be due to the winch being incorrectly reeved. The winch must turn counterclockwise to lower the platform; see Section 3.10. It could also be because unauthorized brake pawl release has occurred—do not try to correct this yourself. Contact your authorized dealer immediately.

Why does my boat shift position when operating my RGC VL3000 Lifting Systems?
    • W
      william16Sep 5, 2025
The boat may shift position during lift operation because it is not properly secured on the lift. Failure to properly secure the boat can cause equipment damage and/or serious personal injury.
