Why do the blades on my RHINO SM72 wear out too fast?
    • L
      Leon WilsonJul 31, 2025
If the blades on your RHINO Lawn Mower are wearing too fast, it could be due to cutting in sandy or rocky conditions. In either case, increase the cutting height to help reduce wear.

Why is my RHINO SM72 Lawn Mower vibrating excessively?
    • C
      Carl VelasquezAug 5, 2025
If your RHINO Lawn Mower exhibits excessive vibration, several factors could be the cause. Begin by checking the gearbox bolts and tighten them if they are loose. Ensure the blades are free swinging. Examine each blade tip for even wear; the weight should be within 1 oz, and always replace both blades. If a blade is broken, replace the blades as a set. A bent blade carrier should be replaced. Also, make sure the blade hub is properly seated on the shaft by removing the hub, checking the tapered shaft, cleaning it, and then replacing the hub. Finally, if you've mixed new blades or bolts with worn ones, replace blades or bolts in sets.

Why is the gear box on my RHINO SM72 overheating?
    • D
      Deborah DavenportAug 10, 2025
If the gear box of your RHINO Lawn Mower is overheating, it could be due to several reasons. First, check the lubricant level and fill it to the level plug if it's low. If the lubricant is the improper type, replace it with the correct one. Also, make sure to remove any excessive trash build-up around the gear box.

Why is my RHINO SM72 Lawn Mower not cutting clean?
    • C
      Christine CordovaAug 15, 2025
If your RHINO Lawn Mower isn't cutting cleanly, several issues might be at play. Start by checking the blades; if they're dull, sharpen or replace them. Ensure that the carrier RPM isn't too low, as this indicates a mismatch between the hydraulic flow of the mower motor and the power unit output. Also, reduce your ground speed by shifting to a lower gear. If the blades are locked back, free them. Lastly, if the blades are riding up due to blade bolt wear or loose bolts, replace the blade bolts.

What to do if gear box is leaking in RHINO Lawn Mower?
    • D
      Denise ChaseAug 20, 2025
If the gear box of your RHINO Lawn Mower is leaking, there are several potential causes. It could be due to a damaged oil seal, which should be replaced. A bent shaft could also be the culprit, in which case you should replace both the oil seal and the shaft. If the shaft is rough in the oil seal area, replace or repair the shaft. An incorrectly installed oil seal should be replaced. If the oil seal isn't sealing on the OD of the seal, replace the seal or use a sealant on the housing. If the oil level is too high, drain the oil to the proper level. A sand hole in the casting may require replacing the castings or gear box. A damaged gasket should be replaced, and loose bolts should be tightened.

How to prevent streaking when using my RHINO SM72 Lawn Mower?
    • J
      johnny14Aug 26, 2025
Streaking conditions during mowing with your RHINO Lawn Mower can occur for a few reasons. If the conditions are too wet for cutting, allow the grass to dry before cutting. Dull blades can also cause streaking, so sharpen or replace them. Additionally, ensure the height of the cutter is not lower at the rear or front. Refer to the Cutting Height Instructions for adjustment.
