5.2 In-Line Current Measurement
In this mode, current measurements can be taken in-line with the circuit in the same way as a normal mulmeter.
This is a more accurate method when measuring smaller currents such as a parasic drain.
1. Insert current adapter into top of tester, making sure red/black contacts on adapter match red/black sockets on tester
2. Aach black probe to black (negave) terminal on current adapter
3. Aach red probe to either 1amp (yellow) or 30Amp (blue) terminal on current adapter
4. Turn Selector Dial to Current Mode (A posion)
5. Select IN-LINE then press
buon to connue
6. Select required test range then press
buon.
Low range High range
7. The probes can now be connected in-line with the circuit to be tested. For example, remove a fuse and connect the probes directly to the fuse contacts
5.2.1 Low Range (0 - 999mA)
This range is useful for measuring parasic drains, which may cause long term discharge on vehicle baeries
The current draw will displayed as shown below
To assist when checking for parasic drains, the Status Indicator will also light up
Green = Current drain < 75mA
Red = Current drain > 75mA
4.2.2 High Range (1 – 30A)
This range is useful for checking higher current circuits such as wiper motors, radiator fans, power windows, etc.
The current draw will displayed as shown below
