The measuring range is from DC 0.0V up to 50.0V maximum. If the voltage is over this limit, the display will show as below
5.4 Starter Test (12V/24V vehicles)
This test helps determine the condion of the starter motor and baery during cranking of the engine. The drop in baery voltage during the starng process
is measured, which can indicate if the baery has aged or the starter has a problem.
1. Connect test leads with baery clamps to meter
2. Turn Selector Dial to Voltage Mode (V posion)
3. Select Starter Mode
then press
buon to connue
4. Display will ash as below to show clamps need connecng to baery
5. Connect red clamp to baery posive(+) and black clamp to baery negave(-)
Note:
The tester will automacally detect whether it is a 12V or 24V vehicle based on the baery voltage detected aer clamping.
6. Once connected, the baery voltage will be displayed as shown below
7. While this display is shown, start the engine unl it runs
8. The voltage drop will then be captured as shown below

9.5V - 12.3V 12V Cranking volt (OK)
24V Starter
14.0V - 16.0V 24V Cranking volt (Low) Check baery terminals or baery has aged
If baery is new, check starter and relay connecons
16.1V - 18.9V 24V Cranking volt (Marginal)
19.0V - 24.6V 24V Cranking volt (OK)
9. To exit, press
buon will return back to the main Menu
