Overview

The Ring Power Pack is a battery backup device designed to provide extended power to your Ring Alarm Pro or eero wifi 6 Extender during a power outage. It serves as a supplementary power source, ensuring continuous operation of your smart home security and network devices.

To begin using the Power Pack, it must first be charged. The initial charging process involves plugging the Power Pack directly into an electrical outlet. It's important to note that the Power Pack does not come with its own power adapter; instead, you should use the Alarm Pro USB-C power adapter for charging. Once connected, an LED light on the Power Pack will turn green, indicating that it is charging. A solid green light signifies active charging, and when the device is fully charged, the LED will turn off.

After the Power Pack is charged, you can connect it to your Alarm Pro. This connection is made using a short, double-sided USB-C cable. The cable features blue and orange connector ends, which should be matched to the corresponding Power In (orange) and Power Out (blue) ports on the Power Pack and Alarm Pro. Even while connected to your Alarm Pro, the Power Pack will continue to charge if needed.

The Power Pack's battery status can be monitored through the Ring app. By navigating to the Alarm Pro Base Station device page and tapping on the Battery Health tile, you can view the status of all connected Power Packs. This feature allows you to stay informed about the remaining battery life and ensure your devices are adequately powered.

For enhanced battery backup, especially during prolonged power outages, you have the option to link multiple Power Packs to your Alarm Pro. This modular approach allows for scalable power solutions, adapting to your specific needs and ensuring a longer operational time for your essential devices. The connection process for additional Power Packs follows the same steps as the initial setup, creating a stacked system of power reserves.

Beyond its primary function with the Ring Alarm Pro, the Power Pack can also be used to power eero wifi 6 Extenders. The installation steps for connecting a Power Pack to an eero wifi 6 Extender are identical to those used for the Alarm Pro, providing versatile power backup for your network infrastructure. It's important to remember that eero wifi 6 Extenders are sold separately.

Maintaining the Ring Power Pack involves responsible usage and adherence to safety guidelines. It is crucial to avoid exposing the device or its adapter to liquids. If accidental exposure occurs, all cables should be carefully unplugged, and the device and adapter allowed to dry completely before reconnecting power. External heat sources like microwaves or hair dryers should not be used for drying. If the device or adapter appears damaged, discontinue use immediately. Only accessories supplied with the device should be used for powering it. To prevent electric shock, avoid touching the device or any connected wires during a lightning storm.

During normal operation, the Power Pack may become warm. To mitigate this, it is recommended to place the device on a heat-resistant surface. If the device becomes hot to the touch, unplug it and allow it to cool down for a few minutes before handling.

The Power Pack contains a rechargeable lithium-ion battery. This battery should only be replaced by a qualified service provider. Users are advised not to disassemble, open, crush, bend, deform, puncture, shred, or attempt to access the battery. Modifying or remanufacturing the battery, inserting foreign objects, or exposing it to water, other liquids, fire, explosion, or other hazards is strictly prohibited. The battery is designed for the specific system and should only be used as intended. Using an unqualified battery or charger can pose risks of fire, explosion, leakage, or other hazards. Short-circuiting the battery or allowing metallic conductive objects to contact the battery terminals should be avoided. If the device or battery is dropped, particularly on a hard surface, and damage is suspected, do not attempt repairs; instead, contact Ring Customer Service for assistance.

The use of third-party accessories may affect the device's performance and could potentially void the limited warranty. Incompatible third-party accessories may also lead to damage to the device or accessory. Always refer to safety instructions for any accessories used with the Ring Power Pack.

The device is shipped with a special USB-C cable designed specifically for interconnection between a Ring Power Pack and a Ring Alarm Pro or another Ring Power Pack and an eero 6 Extender. This cable should not be used for any other purpose. If the USB-C connector or cable shows signs of damage, discontinue use immediately. Replacement USB-C interconnection cables are available from ring.com.

When it comes to disposal, certain electronic devices are subject to regulations. Ensure that you dispose of or recycle your device in accordance with local laws and regulations. Information regarding device recycling can be found at amazon.com/devicesupport.
