Overview

The Brivis Digital Room Thermostat is a user-friendly manual thermostat designed to control room temperature effectively. It features a clear LCD display that provides essential information at a glance, including the current temperature, the set temperature, and various status indicators.

Function Description

The primary function of this thermostat is to regulate the heating system in a room. Users can manually set their desired temperature, and the thermostat will activate or deactivate the heating to maintain that set point. The device operates on a 2 x 1.5V AA battery power source, offering typical operation for approximately one year. It is designed for indoor use, indicated by its IP30 protection class, meaning it is protected against solid objects larger than 2.5 mm but not against liquids. The thermostat is compatible with 36V AC or DC systems and can handle a maximum load of 1.0 Amp per terminal, with a total maximum of 1.0 Amp across all terminals.

Usage Features

The thermostat is designed for straightforward operation. Upon fitting the batteries and pressing the ON/OFF button, the LCD will flash the set temperature before displaying the working mode icon and the current environment temperature. The factory default set temperature is 18°C.

  • Power On/Off: The ON/OFF button serves to power the thermostat on or off. Even when powered off, the current environment temperature remains visible on the display.
  • Temperature Adjustment: Users can easily adjust the desired temperature using the up (▲) and down (▼) arrow buttons. The temperature set-point range is from 5°C to 35°C, while the display can show temperatures from -9°C to 50°C. The temperature control accuracy is 1°C, and the returned temperature is also 1°C, ensuring precise temperature management.
  • Backlight: For enhanced visibility in low-light conditions, the thermostat includes a backlight feature. Pressing any of the adjustment buttons (▲, ▼, or ON/OFF) will activate the backlight, which will automatically turn off several seconds after the last button press to conserve battery life.
  • Heating Mode Indicator: When the thermostat is actively heating the room to reach the set temperature, a distinct heating mode symbol (a wavy icon) will appear on the display, providing a clear visual cue of its operational status.
  • Battery Indicator: A dedicated battery indicator icon is present on the display. When this indicator flashes, it signals that the batteries are low and require immediate replacement to ensure continuous operation.
  • Reset Function: Should there be a need to revert to the original factory settings, a "RESET" button is conveniently located on the back of the thermostat. Pressing this button will restore all default configurations.

Installation

The installation process is designed to be simple and user-friendly. It involves a few key steps:

  1. Back Board Mounting: The back board of the thermostat is first fixed securely onto a wall. This provides a stable base for the main unit.
  2. Battery Insertion: Once the back board is in place, the 1.5V AA batteries are inserted into the designated compartment within the thermostat unit.
  3. Thermostat Attachment: Finally, the main thermostat unit is attached to the back board, completing the installation. This modular design allows for easy battery replacement and maintenance.

Maintenance Features

The Brivis Digital Room Thermostat is designed for minimal maintenance. The primary maintenance task involves replacing the batteries when indicated by the low battery warning. The reset function allows users to easily restore the device to its default settings if needed, which can be useful for troubleshooting or reconfiguring the thermostat. The robust design and clear indicators contribute to a hassle-free user experience, ensuring reliable temperature control with straightforward upkeep.
