4. If the horn sounds during Step 2 and the inside
light does not change from RED to GREEN.
a. Check if the trailer is parked firmly against the
dock bumpers. If not, press UNLOCK and
have trailer repositioned to make contact with
both bumpers, and repeat Step 2.
b. If trailer is parked tight against both dock
bumpers and no restraint is possible, check to
see if the R.I.G. bar is bent, missing, or not
depressing R.I.G. sensor. See Figure 18.
c. Secure trailer by other means, wheel chocks,
etc., before attempting to service the trailer.
The VBR-400 DOK-LOK vehicle restraint inside
lights will remain flashing RED and the horn
sounds to remind the operator or forklift driver
that there is a potential danger of the trailer
being pulled away or moving forward from the
dock. The outside light will remain flashing
RED warning the truck driver not to pull away.
d. HORN OFF can be activated by turning the
HORN SILENCE SWITCH to HORN OFF.
Barrier will automatically retract to the stored
position. In a HORN OFF situation, both of the
inside lights, RED and GREEN, will flash; the
horn stops sounding, the outside light will
continue to flash RED. LOCK and UNLOCK
buttons are inoperative in Horn Off condition.
e. When loading/unloading is complete, return the
HORN SILENCE SWITCH to NORMAL position
and press the UNLOCK button. The inside light
will change to flashing RED and the outside
light will change to flashing GREEN
it is safe for the driver to leave the dock
position.

5. Operate any dock leveler only when the truck is
properly and safely restrained by an VBR-400
DOK-LOK vehicle restraint or alternate means.
