Pneumatic tire
A mechanical device constructed of rubber, chemicals,
fabric, steel, and other materials. When mounted on
an automotive wheel, the device provides traction and
contains the gas or fluid that sustains the load of the
vehicle.
Radial ply tire
A pneumatic tire that contains ply cords that extend to
the beads and are laid at alternate angles substantially less
than 90 degrees to the tread centerline.
Recommended
inflation pressure
The cold tire inflation pressure recommended by Rivian
Automotive, LLC. This information is printed on the tire
placard on the inside of the door pillar.
Rim
The metal support for a tire assembly where the tire beads
are seated.
