Engine
Refer to the engine owner’s manual for detailed information about
enginemaintenanceandrepair.Thatmanualhasamaintenanceand
serviceschedulefortheengineonyourboat.
CheckingtheOil(On4‐StrokeModels)
Note:Duringtheengine10‐hourbreak‐inperiod,oras
recommendedbytheenginemanufacturer,Robalorecommends
thatyouchecktheoilleveleverytwohours.
Tochecktheoil:
1. Makesureboatisinthewaterandengineisstopped.
2. Puttheoutboardmotorinanuprightposition(nottilted).
3. Ifengineiswarm,letitcoolfortenminutestoallowoiltodrain
backintotheengineoilpan.Thiswillmakethecheckmore
accurate.
4. Pullengineoildipstickoutofitssleeve,wipeclean,andpush
dipstickbackintothesleeve.Makecertainthedipstickispushed
allthewaybackin.
5. Pull dipstick out again and check oil level on dipstick. The oil
levelmustbebetweentheADDandFULLmarksonthedipstick.
6. IfoillevelisatorbelowtheADDmarkyoumust
addoil.
7. Pushdipstickbackdownintothesleeve.Besureitisalltheway
inandproperlyseated.
Toaddoil:
1. Removeoilfillcapfromvalvecover.
2. Add oil as required toraise the oil level up between the ADD
andFULLmarksonthedipstick.Donotoverfill.Onequart
(0.95liters)ofoilwillberequiredifoillevelwasattheADD
markonthedipstick.AddmoreoilofoillevelwasbelowADD
markondipstick.
3. Checkoillevelafteraddingoil.
Note: Robalo Boats recommends that you use a funnel when you
add oil to prevent spillage and to help keep your engine free of
sur‐facegrimeanddirt.
Important: The Federal Water Pollution Control Act prohibits the
discharge of oil or oily waste into or upon the navigable waters of
the United States or the waters of the contiguous zone if such dis‐
chargecausesafilmorsheenuponoradiscolorationofthesurface
ofthewaterorcausesa sludge oremulsionbeneaththesurfaceof
thewater.Violator
saresubjecttoapenalty.
FuelFilter
WARNING: Gasoline vapor explodes easily.Explosion is likely to cause
fireandmayburnyouanddamageyourboat.AlwaysSTOPengineand
donotsmokeorallowopenflamesinareawhenchangingfilter.
