Assembly instructions
U 47
Order No.
1114
Plastic parts to be painted should be wiped down beforehand
with white spirit (not cellulose thinners). Try not to touch the
cleaned surfaces before painting them.
If you are aiming at a neat cleanly delineated paint job it is
important to paint the model step by step, i.e. any component
which is to be a different colour should first be trimmed to fit on
the model, then painted, and then screwed or glued in place
permanently.
If your model is to feature a multi-colour scheme, the different
areas must be masked out using Tesafilm (Sellotape) or PVC
tape - don’t use paper masking tape. Carefully peel back the
tape as soon as the paint is touch-dry.
Where you have to glue a component to a previously painted
area, sand the painted surface first to provide a „key“ for the
adhesive.
Parts should be painted at the most convenient point in con-
struction. The model’s waterline (CWL) is marked in the side
elevation, and this also represents the dividing line between
the two main hull colours.
The instructions do not tell you when to paint each indivi-
dual component; this is left up to you.
Use acrylic-based or synthetic enamel paints only to finish this
model.
The following RAL colours are the correct shade:
Light grey, RAL 7038
Dark grey, RAL 7042
Refer to the kit box illustration for details of the colour scheme
and the location of the self-adhesive transfers.
Radio control system
We recommend that you install the RC components stated. If
you are using different components you can still follow the
installation scheme shown, but you may need to make allo-
wance for slight differences in component size.
As a first step connect up the entire radio control system as
described in the instructions supplied with the set. Check that
all sticks and trims on the transmitter are at neutral; this ensu-
res that all the servos run to their centre positions.
Please read and observe the safety notes.
