- Glue the side strips 16.2 to the moulded housing 16.1 and
sand back the excess length flush with the ends.
- Glue the back panel 16.3 and the front panel 16.4 to the
housing. Sand the curved ends flush with the moulding -
Figs. 179 and 180.
- The finished roof should overhang forward and aft by about
2 mm.
- When planking the roof start with the centre strake 16.5 -
Fig. 181.
- Chamfer the edges of the strips so that they meet snugly
at the top.
- Sand the finished roof as shown in Fig. 182.
- Mark the centre of the guide tube 9.1 on the back panel
16.3, and drill the 4 mm Ø hole for it. Glue the washer 16.6
over the hole after installing the light shaft.
- Glue the side panels 17.2 and 17.3 to the moulded com-
panion housing - Fig. 183. Sand back the top edges of
parts 17.2 flush with the glazed area, sanding at a slight
angle to match the glazing panels.

wed by the front panels 17.6 and 17.7 - Figs. 184 and 185.

Glue the corner pieces in place, sand them down to 0.5
mm thickness and round them off - Fig. 187.
- Notch the corner pieces to accept the frame strips 17.11
and glue the strips in place - Fig. 188.
- Relieve the upper window frames 17.12 to fit round the

17.13 to fit and space them out equally as shown in Figs.
189 and 190.
- Glue in place the three central roof planking strakes 17.14
with an equal overhang. Glue the outer strakes in place,
overhanging at the sides by 1 mm. Fit two further strakes
