roof, offset one strake’s width to the left of centre. Place
the hatch (17.17) against the first rail as a guide, then glue
the second rail to the cabin roof.
- Cut the recess for the loose bulkhead, and glue the rails
20.17 and the loose bulkhead 20.18 to the structure.
- Glue the handrails 20.19 and 20.20 to the structure as
shown in Figs. 208 and 209.
- The portholes 20.21 have to be sanded back to a thickn-
ess of 1.8 mm. This is done by pushing the porthole firmly
onto the cap of an old cyano bottle to act as a support.
Shorten the cap as shown and sand the porthole down to
the correct depth - Fig. 210.
- Glue the prepared portholes to the cabin - Fig. 211.
- Glue the lifebelt holders 20.22 to the roof using the lifebelt
20.23 as a guide for correct spacing - Fig. 212.

- Glue the panels 20.1 to 20.8 to the moulded cabin housing
20.9 - Fig. 205 (housing not shown).
- Trim the length of the in-fill pieces 20.10 so that the gap is
the same width all round; Figs. 206 and 207.
- Attach the corner pieces 20.11.
- Note: the overhang of the cabin roof over the corner pie-
ces should be 2 mm all round.
- Glue four roof strakes 20.12 on each side of the centreline,
starting at the centre.
- Glue the outer strakes 20.13 in place.
- The remaining gaps are filled with three tapered strakes
20.14 on each side. The strakes have to be tapered from 8
to 4 mm.
- Glue the edging strips 20.15 in place.
- Glue the inner rail 20.16 for the sliding hatch to the cabin
