  There are several reasons why your Robin Engine might not start. First, ensure the stop switch is in the 'I' (ON) position. Next, inspect the spark plug for fouling; clean or replace it if needed. If these steps don't work, remove the spark plug, connect it to the plug cap, and pull the starter handle while grounding the plug against the engine body. If the spark is weak or nonexistent, try a new spark plug. If there's still no spark with a new plug, the ignition system may be faulty. Also, if the oil level is too low, raise it to the prescribed limit.

  To check the spark plug on your Robin Engine, first remove and inspect it. If the electrode is fouled, clean or replace the spark plug with a new one. If that doesn't work, remove the spark plug and connect it to the plug cap. Pull the starter handle while grounding the spark plug against the engine body. If the spark is weak or nonexistent, try a new spark plug. Remember to wipe up any spilled fuel and keep the spark plug away from the spark plug hole during testing. Also, do not hold the spark plug by hand while pulling the recoil starter.
