ROBINSON
MODEL R44
SECTION 4
NORMAL PROCEDURES
CRUISE
1. Adjust carb heat if required. (See page 4-12.)
2. Verify RPM in green arc.
3. Set manifold pressure with collective for desired power.
4. For aircraft with manual controls, adjust cyclic trim to
zero forces.
5. Verify gages in green, warning lights out.
CAUTION
If turbulence is expected, reduce power and
use a slower than normal cruise speed.
CAUTION
In-flight leaning with engine mixture control
is not allowed. Mixture must be full rich
during flight.
NOTE
When loaded near aft CG limit, slight yaw
oscillation during cruise can be stopped by
applying a small amount of left pedal.
DOORS-OFF OPERATION
Maximum airspeed with any door(s) off is 100 KIAS. Warn
passengers to secure loose objects and to keep head and
arms inside cabin to avoid high velocity airstream.
CAUTION
Ensure all seat belts are buckled during
doors-off flight. Rear seat bottoms may
lift if not restrained and items in baggage
compartments could be blown out.
CAUTION
Flight with left door(s) removed is not
recommended. Loose objects exiting left
doors may damage tail rotor.
