Overview

The Rollplay Flex Kart is a ride-on vehicle designed for young children, offering a fun and engaging driving experience. This manual provides comprehensive instructions for assembly, operation, and maintenance, ensuring safe and proper use of the vehicle.

Function Description

The Rollplay Flex Kart is a battery-powered ride-on toy that allows children aged 2-5 years to drive and steer. It features a steering wheel with a power button for control, enabling forward motion and left/right steering. The vehicle is designed with a foldable frame, making it convenient for storage and transport. The 6V battery provides power for the motor, allowing the kart to reach a maximum speed of 3.2 km/h (2 MPH). The seat is adjustable, offering two length options to accommodate a child's growth.

Usage Features

  • Initial Battery Charge: Before the first use, the battery must be charged for a full 24 hours (and no more than 30 hours). This is crucial for optimal battery life and performance.
  • Regular Charging: After each use, the battery should be charged for 8-12 hours, but not exceeding 20 hours. Even if the vehicle is not in use, the battery should be charged at least once a month to prevent it from being in a discharged condition.
  • Battery Connection: To charge, ensure the Flex Kart is stopped and turned off. Locate the cover at the rear of the car, turn the cover lock to the unlocked position, and remove it. Unplug the red battery connector from the red engine connector. Connect the red battery connector to the red battery charger connector and plug the charger into a 240V AC outlet. To reconnect, unplug the charger from the outlet, unplug the battery connector from the charger, and then reconnect the battery connector to the engine connector. Replace the seat and lock it in place. It is not necessary to remove the battery for charging unless the outlet is inaccessible.
  • Unfolding the Frame: To unfold the vehicle, first release the Frame Lock by pulling it outward. While holding the Frame Lock in the released position, pull upwards on the Steering Bar towards the front of the vehicle until it clicks into place. Then, release the Frame Lock. If the Frame Lock is difficult to release, press down on the steering bar and try again.
  • Installing the Steering Wheel: Remove the screw from the steering wheel. Plug the steering wheel wire into the steering bar wire, ensuring the wires are gently tucked completely into the steering bar to prevent damage. Place the steering wheel onto the top of the steering bar, aligning the screw holes. Insert the screw into the hole and fasten with the nut to secure it.
  • Attaching the Seat: Remove the screws from the seat's polybag. Align the two holes on the seat over the holes on the vehicle body to the desired position. Insert the screws through the holes on the seat and the frame, then tighten with a Phillips head screwdriver. The seat has two length options; it is recommended to move the seat back to the second position as the child grows.
  • Operating the Vehicle: Turn on the power switch. To control the vehicle, press and hold the Start Button on the right of the Steering Wheel handle. This button controls both left/right steering and forward motion. The child should not release the button while riding.
  • Folding the Frame: Only adults should fold and unfold the vehicle to prevent potential injury. To fold, press and hold the Lock Button while simultaneously pinching the two Spring Tabs. Fold the Steering Bar down and slide the Frame Bracket towards the seat. Ensure the Frame Lock securely locks the vehicle in the folded position.

Maintenance Features

  • Regular Inspection: Regularly inspect all vehicle parts, including the charger, cord, plug, and other related components, to ensure they are in good working condition and free from damage.
  • Damaged Parts: If any parts are damaged, remove them immediately and contact Customer Service for replacements. Do not operate the vehicle if any parts are damaged.
  • Cleaning: Clean the vehicle carefully with a damp cloth and mild soap. Avoid getting water in or near any electrical parts. Do not wash the vehicle with a hose.
  • Storage: Store the vehicle indoors or cover it with a tarp. Keep it away from stoves, heaters, or other sources of heat.
  • Battery Care:
    • Always handle the battery and charger by an adult who has read and understood the safety warnings.
    • Never leave the battery in a discharged state.
    • Keep the charger away from water or excessive moisture to prevent short-circuiting.
    • Only use the charger specified with the original item. Do not charge the battery with any other charger or attempt to recharge non-rechargeable batteries.
    • Do not replace the battery with any other type, as this will void the warranty.
    • Remove damaged batteries immediately and dispose of them responsibly.
    • Do not short-circuit the supply terminals.
    • Disconnect the battery connector from the engine connector when the vehicle is not in use for extended periods to prevent battery drain.
  • Thermal Fuse: The vehicle is equipped with a thermal fuse to protect the electric circuit. If the vehicle stops unexpectedly, turn it off and on again to reset the fuse.
  • Troubleshooting: The manual includes a troubleshooting guide to help diagnose and resolve common issues such as the vehicle not running, running for a short time, running slowly, needing a push to start, not stopping, making grinding noises, or the battery not recharging. Solutions often involve checking battery charge, connections, or contacting Customer Service for replacement parts.
  • FCC Information: The device complies with FCC Rules, ensuring it does not cause harmful interference and accepts any received interference. Users are advised to reorient or relocate the receiving antenna, increase distance from the receiver, consult a technician, or connect the equipment to a different circuit if interference occurs. Any unauthorized changes or modifications could void the user's authority to operate the equipment.
  • Warranty: The product comes with a one-year limited warranty covering defects in materials and workmanship for the vehicle (excluding the 6-volt battery) for 12 months from the purchase date. This warranty is valid if the product is assembled and used according to instructions and is in addition to Australian Consumer Law rights. Hunter Products offers refunds or replacement parts for defects within the warranty period and covers reasonable expenses for warranty claims. The warranty does not cover defects from accidents, misuse, abuse, neglect, or unauthorized service. Customers are advised to retain their receipt as proof of purchase for warranty claims.
