13. Installation
1. Consider the following when choosing the location of your light source:
Access to a plug
The light source should be installed out of reach of clients
The light source is to be used in dry environments
If using a shelf or bracket check that these can comfortably hold the weight of the
unit
Fibre optic products are most visually effective in a darkened environment, not in
bright lighting conditions
2. Slide the boss of your fibre optics, Starcloth or Milky Way Carpet into the circular
hole in the front face of the light source. When using this with fibre optics, it may be
necessary to adjust the position of the boss in the port (i.e. not completely pushed in
as far as possible) to allow as many strands as possible to be illuminated.
3. Tighten the screw on the top of the unit to secure the fibre optics into the unit.
Please note: if you remove the cover from the light source you have to remove the
screw from the top which holds the fibre optics in.
4. Connect the power lead. If the fit does not seem tight, ‘wiggle’ the lead into the light
source, whilst pushing at the same time.
5. Using the ON/OFF rocker switch at the back of the light source, switch the light
source on.
