The Rosewill RHTO-19001 is a toaster oven designed for household use, offering a variety of cooking functions including baking, broiling, roasting, and toasting. This appliance is intended to provide a versatile cooking experience, allowing users to prepare a range of meals from simple toast to more elaborate baked goods and roasted meats.
The toaster oven features three main control dials: a Temperature Dial, a Function Dial, and a Timer Dial. These controls work in conjunction to allow precise adjustment of cooking parameters.
The Temperature Dial allows users to select a desired temperature ranging from 150 °F to 450 °F. This broad range accommodates various cooking needs, whether it's a low-temperature bake or a high-temperature broil.
The Function Dial offers four distinct heating modes:
The Timer Dial allows users to set a specific cooking duration, with a maximum setting of 60 minutes. A bell rings at the end of the programmed time to alert the user that cooking is complete. For continuous operation, the "Stay On" feature can be selected by turning the dial counterclockwise past the "OFF" position. In this mode, the oven will remain on until manually shut off, providing flexibility for longer cooking tasks or keeping food warm. An illuminated Power ON Indicator Light signals when the oven is in operation.
Before first use, it is recommended to read all instructions, ensure the oven is unplugged with the Timer control in the OFF position, and wash all accessories in hot, soapy water or a dishwasher. After drying and re-assembling, a preliminary run at the highest temperature (450 °F) on the toast function for approximately 15 minutes is advised to eliminate any packing residue and initial odors. Minimal smell and smoke during this initial operation are normal and harmless.
The toaster oven comes with several accessories, including a Grill Rack, Crumb Tray, and Bake Pan, which are essential for different cooking methods. A Bake Pan Support is also included to properly position the Bake Pan.
Broiling: To broil, set the Temperature Dial to 450 °F and the Function Dial to Broil. Preheat the oven for 5 minutes using the Timer Dial. Food should be placed on the Grill Rack, Crumb Tray, or Bake Pan, brushed with sauces or oil, and then slid onto the Bake Pan. Position food as close as possible to the top heating element without touching it. Turn food midway through cooking and turn the timer to OFF when finished.
Baking/Roasting: For baking or roasting, place the removable Grill Rack in the desired position and insert the Bake Pan. Close the oven door. Set the Timer Dial for the desired cooking time, the Function Dial to Bake/Roast, and select the temperature using the Temperature Dial. The oven is compatible with bakeware up to 9 inches in length. When using a single baking pan, it should be positioned in the lowest Bake Pan Support guide. Plastic, cardboard, paper, or similar materials should never be used in the oven. Turn the timer to OFF when finished.
Toasting: For best toasting results, preheat the oven for 10 minutes at 350 °F by setting the Temperature Dial to 350 °F, the Function Dial to Toast, and the Timer Dial to the 10-minute position. Once preheated, the bell will ring, and the oven will shut off. Place bread on the Grill Rack, set the Temperature Dial to 450 °F, and turn the Timer Dial to the desired toast shade icon. Toasting times will vary based on bread type. The timer knob can be adjusted between the dark and light slice of bread icons for desired browning. Turn the timer to OFF when finished.
Cooking Guide: The manual provides a cooking guide with recommended functions, temperatures, and times for various food types, including reheating pizza, toasting bread with cheese, bagels, cake, and salmon fillet. A roasting guide is also included, suggesting an initial cook at 400 °F for 15 minutes, then reducing to 350 °F for the remaining time, with specific durations for different doneness levels of beef, lamb, veal, pork, and chicken.
Safety Precautions: The manual emphasizes several safety precautions, including not touching hot surfaces, avoiding immersion of the cord or appliance in liquids, and ensuring close supervision when children are nearby. It advises unplugging the unit when not in use or before cleaning, and not operating it with a damaged cord or plug. The appliance is for indoor household use only and should not be used outdoors. Adequate air circulation (at least four inches of space on all sides) is necessary during operation. Users are cautioned against covering the Crumb Tray or any part of the oven with metal foil, as this can cause overheating. Extreme caution should be used when handling hot oil or liquids, and when removing hot trays or disposing of hot grease. The Rosewill RHTO-19001 features a continuous clean coating on its interior walls. This coating automatically cleans itself during normal operation by oxidizing any spattering that comes into contact with it. For additional cleaning, the walls can be wiped with a damp sponge, cloth, or nylon scouring pad and mild detergent. It is crucial not to use steel wool scouring pads, abrasive cleaners, or metal utensils, as these can damage the continuous clean coating.
All accessories, including the Grill Rack, Crumb Tray, and Bake Pan, can be washed in hot soapy water or cleaned in a dishwasher. The glass door can be wiped with a damp sponge and dried with a paper or cloth towel. The exterior of the oven should be cleaned with a damp sponge. Abrasive cleaners should not be used on the exterior finish to prevent damage.
Specifically, abrasive cleaners or steel wool scouring pads should not be used on the Drip Pan, as this may damage its porcelain enamel finish. Before plugging the oven back in and using it, all parts and surfaces must be thoroughly dried.
The manual also states that due to continuous product improvement, specifications are subject to change without prior notice. The appliance is not intended for use by persons with reduced physical, sensory, or mental capabilities, or lack of experience and knowledge, unless supervised or instructed.
